Honestly if he enjoys cooking, then a bribe may not be necessary. My roommate has a friend who's constantly bestowing delicious homemade leftovers on him/us.

his name is Chris Pike. We're contracted but it's completely platonic, he's straight and needed help. So I just call him my roommate. But he really stepped up when I was in that dang coma, took care of me and Jean.

So even though I know he'd cook if I asked, I want to show my appreciation somehow. I'm just not good at that when it's not romantic.

I think it helps him to have someone to talk to about his day, especially with recent heartbreak. So I've tried to do that for him. But I don't feel like that's really enough

I think it helps most of us to have support here. I've tried to keep my apartment to be as much of a sanctuary as possible for the both of us. There's so much chaos and disregard for consent as a baseline.
We can only do so much for people here. You can only do so much.

You absolutely have to tell me about living on the moon.
And space too, obviously.

I've heard you mention your roommate before, what's he like?

You're right, really. I just have a problem of telling myself I have to do more than I am and feeling like crap for not meeting my own impossible standards.

He's a good person. Kind, considerate, intelligent, and a friend. We both are nerdy sorts, but he's more socially adept than me, which I'm aware isn't a difficult feat. I appreciate him as a contract partner.

[There's more, but she wants to be careful of what she says. She doesn't want to overshare either his business or her feelings on the matter. Especially since the powers that be monitor the network and find cruel ways to make their points. If people don't know exactly how fond she is of her contract partner, then they have less reason to potentially hurt Hughie.]

My wife, really. She has to be all over for her duties. And... I don't know. Krakoa is a good thing, but it's better for all three of us in the relationship if we have a little healthy separation from it.

I agree that it's important to have some separation, a place that's just yours. It's difficult here, though.
